Delete your account

IN THE APP

Open Bothy, go to Profile, scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete my account". You will be asked for your password and to type DELETE to confirm. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

IF YOU CANNOT REACH THE APP

Email support@trybothy.xyz from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We verify the request and complete it within 30 days.

WHAT IS DELETED

Your profile, email address, name, date of birth and gender. Your answers to questions, daily check-ins, moods and messages you sent. Photos you uploaded. Your streaks, points and completed exercises. Your notification and device tokens. Your subscription records held by us.

Your pairing ends, so your partner is no longer connected to you.

WHAT IS KEPT, AND WHY

Your partner's own answers and messages remain with them. Those are their words rather than yours, and deleting your account does not delete their account. Because their answers are stored against your shared space, that record is kept but emptied of anything identifying you - your account cannot be signed into, found or contacted afterwards.

Records we are legally required to retain, such as proof of a purchase for tax purposes, are kept for as long as the law requires. Subscription billing records are held by Apple or Google under their own policies - cancel a subscription in your store account.

HOW LONG IT TAKES

In-app deletion is immediate. Encrypted backups are overwritten on a rolling basis and are fully cleared within 30 days.
